I know of a digital agency that just launched a great retail website full of Facebook Connect features only a week before F8.

I’m sure life would have been great for those guys on the morning of F8 when Facebook pulled support for Facebook Connect.

Nokia and the Distinguished Gentleman?

With all the talk about Google, RIM and Apple any observer would think that Nokia are dead and buried and well and truly out of the mobile phone ‘arms race’

I doubt it.

The company I work for released an iPhone app at the start of February - it’s available for free on the AppStore. A few weeks back I received a call from a Nokia representative offering to port this application to the Nokia platform for free. Zing!

Makes me think that something is brewing at Nokia… they’ve got far too much invested in this market to simply lay over and die. The question is when will they make their move.

The other interesting point is that they’ve been the market leader for years (up at the top anyway). People have been buying Nokia’s time and time again as their contracts come up for renewal. The second question are modern day consumerists brand loyalists?

Could the mobile phone industry parallel the classic Eddie Murphy hit ‘The Distinguished Gentleman’?

HUSBAND Who are we voting for Congress?
WIFE Don’t we always vote for Johnson?

People know Nokia - it’s time they stepped up to the plate.

The show should appeal to the entrepreneur in everyone. Could a TV show be a source of inspiration… surely not…

Location Sharing - Formula for Success

I have to confess I’m into location sharing - those that know me know I can’t go anywhere without checking into Foursquare!

Given my preference I’m pretty interested in The Inquisitr’s article (http://www.inquisitr.com/67059/why-gowalla-will-beat-four-square-in-the-location-sharing-war/) in how it predicts Gowalla will ultimately outshine Foursquare.

Now I agree that the Gowalla interface is superior, the object of the app is more refined but the simple thing is Foursquare seems (in my circles anyway) to have a larger audience base and location sharing is only fun with friends.

AdAge’s article I feel is more on point (http://adage.com/digital/article?article_id=142902).

“From a consumer perspective, the decision is going to be made on where their friends are,” said Jeremy Lockhorn, director-emerging media, Razorfish.

Aside from the ‘fun with friends’ aspect I’m also intrigued with the Foursquare business model. They’re currently rolling out a number of features (http://mashable.com/2010/03/09/foursquare-business-dashboard/) for business.

If their offering gets business on side they’ll be a pretty formidable force in mobile marketing.

Conan’s resurgence (possibly drop the ‘re’) is...

Conan’s resurgence (possibly drop the ‘re’) is pretty impressive.
Panic Software has a new status board. It’s an internal only web page running full screen in chrome. It’s updated frequently with ajax and shows

E-Mail Queue — number of messages / number of days.

Project Status — sorry for the heavy censorship — you know how it is!

Important Countdowns

Revenue — comparing yesterday to the day before, not so insightful (yet).

Live Tri-Met Bus Arrivals — when it’s time to go home!

The Panic Calendar

Employee Twitter Messages

Any @Panic Twitter Messages
